For the first time at Schofield Barracks' McCarthy Flats on Oahu, the M198 155mm howitzers which replaced the old M114A1 155mm guns were fired. The guns belonging to the 1st Bn. 8th Field Artillery Regiment, 25th Divarty, 25th Infantry Division, fired about 48 rounds in an accurate test at the field artillery range. Source: SFC Kenneth L.
