How did you find our site? 25th Association Member since '85
What unit did you serve with? HHT 3/4 Cav
When did you serve? 3/65-6/66
Please enter your comments: I agree with Mike Moschkins comments about Joe Grasso - I met Joe at the NY City "WELCOME HOME" Parade that I attended. They had a Hospitality Room there in the Penta Hotel - and it was the 1st time since coming home from Vietnam that I even knew that the 25th Association existed. That was on May 6th - 7th, 1985.That was a month after I went to the "WALL" in D.C. in April 1985 by myself. And I've been a Life Memember ever since. Joe Grasso Welcomed us Vietnam Vets without any questions asked. He also helped us start our Chapter here in the Midwest, and when we stepped up to the plate and had the 25th Association Reunion in Chicago, which was run by our Chapter here, Joe came in, gave us support and told us what we needed to do to get it together - with his guidence and a lot of hard work on our part we had 500 25th Members attend the Reunion here in Chicago. God Bless you Joe - In the True Spirit of the 25th Infantry Division Association.

Please enter your comments: The following is from your history page. I am a history buff, can anyone point me to where KYONG-JU is on the map of Korea? Also which battalion served at Kyong-Ju and which battalion served at P'ohang-dong, and the dates. Thanks, M. O'Brien, Augusta, Maine << 1950 on 13 july 1950, the 35th infantry regiment landed at the southern port city of pusan, korea. commanded by colonel henry g. fisher the regiment initially set up defensive positions with one battalion near kyong-ju and the other at pohang dong. the 35th, like most other regiments coming from occupation duty in japan, was minus its third battalion. >>

Please enter your comments: I am writing this to pay tribute to Joe Grasso who was one of the driving forces behind the 25th's Association recruiting of us Vietnam Vets. I first met Joe Grasso in November of 1982, when he along with Carmine Cusiamano,Bud Murray, Bill Schumacher, and George Banachak were manning the 25th Infantry Division Association's Hopitality Room during the dedication of the Vietnam Memorial. They greeted and welcomed us with open arms, along with one of our own Vietnam War Member Larry Moss at their side. It was my first time to meet with my fellow Vietnam Vets since the war and I was very apprehensive to say the least, however they put me and the rest of us new guys at ease with their comraderie and open arms as if we all served together. It was a "Welcome Home" as I and the other attendees had never felt before. My lost pride and spirit soared, to be back with the 25th Infantry Division Members again. As the parade time approached I was going to march with my home state of New Jersey and some one talked me in to marching with the 25th instead, because I had gone to war with the 25th Infantry Division not New Jersey . Joe stayed more involved with the 25th to mentor us as we grew in numbers. I will miss Joe Grasso as will the Association, but more so this year, as we gather for the Twentieth Anniversary Reunion of the "WALL" I was looking foreward so very much to seeing him on this occasion and thank him and the others for bringing us in to the fold, we were lost from, for so many years. Thank you Joe and you those other WWII Vets for making us a part of you. Sincerely Mike Moschkin A1/27

You can come out and prove me wrong as we will have unit sign in sheets there for that purpose..

I can't remember his exact characterization, but it was basically: if you're going over (to Nam), this outfit's got their s_ _ _ together. They still did when I got there and, I hope, I could be described in that manner during the short period I was in the field. I didn't last too long, I'm afraid, but I'm proud to have had that opportunity to serve with a fine outfit. "I'll try, Sir !"

Please enter your comments: I worked with the Wolfhounds more than any other unit . And wear their pin today - along with other units I worked with - with pride on my leather motorcycle vest. Have been a member of Rolling Thunder and other Veteran related fund raisers. I worked with Wolfhounds, not sure which unit, on a mission where a soldier took his life after returning home from the States and finding his wife cheating on him. A platoon sgt. by nickname Mad Dog cut through bamboo as well as others to get his body to a LZ and had to be taken also after getting some type of poison from a weed on him . I believe this to have happened in mid 70 or about . If anyone knows the name of the soldier I would appreciate any help . I felt a closeness to him as my fiance had stopped writing me months before . I can still see his brains dripping from poncho he was wrapped in . I had a black and silver German Shepherd named NOBLE .

Please enter your comments: Just a note " God did Bless America ", he allowed us to live and thrive here!!!!!!!! Some better than others, but nowhere on the face of the earth has life been so full. I thank God for the privledge of being born in AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to thank Paul North for his devotion to this site> I feel that I know him as a brother yet never have met him other than in e-mails. Thank you Paul!!!!!! Through Paul, I have been in touch with Butch Sincock, a fellow " Tomahawk " serving during the same period of time . I will soon have the honor of re-encountering a brother Officer in the next week or so, and because of this site I have had the opportunity to at least been in touch with my former CO Captain Jim Hales , 2nd plt ldr Bill Bates and a host of memories that will haunt me in the best sense . I know that I have only mentioned officers, but I truley remember you guys in the 1st and 4th platoons, names have eluded me, but faces are etched forever!!!! Dirty Stan from Chicago, Mike the baseball guy from California, Doc from Texas, Curt the Mechanic ( I might add, the only person I knew who threw grenades without pulling the pin) and then said he was conserving ammo! I know for a fact he hit at least 2 of the sappers in the wire, they recovered and were dispatched post haste. I loved you guys more than you will know and went to bat for you on more occasions than you will ever know. I salute you and pray for you daily. I hope all is well in your world God bless and keep you all!!!!!!!!1 Jeff H

Please enter your comments: I was searching for anyone who served with my uncle Gonzalo Villasenor in the 1/5 in early 1969. Chalo was in the CRIP detachment when he was KIA on 4/11/69. Pat, who served with Chalo was kind enough to share his memories of that time period with me. He didn't have to, but he did it anyway. I just wanted to say Thank You! I am so proud of all of you guys! You are what makes America great! The heart and soul of a nation! Thank You!

Please enter your comments: I was originally assigned as a medic in B Co. 69th Engr. fromFeb 67 to May 67. Combat Engineers are crazy! They know what the exact "P" should be. In May 67 I transferred to the 2/14 Inf. and was medic in 2nd platoon B co 2/14 , later company medic from May 67- Feb 68, where "P" stood for PLENTY! Battle Dragons to the right of the line!

Please enter your comments: Hello, Could this request below be placed in the next issue of the Wolfhound's Newsletter? I'm looking for information on a buddy of mine who was in the Wolfhounds. I was not, but my buddy was. We took Boot Camp together in Fort Dix, New Jersey from Oct - 1964 to Jan - 1965. He was in the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division and he was Killed-In-Action on April 16, 1966 somewhere in Kontum Province. His tombstone says Company D. but some guy from the Wolfhounds already informed me he was actually in Company B. In any case. I am looking for anyone who knew Walter. Or anyone who served with him. Or anyone who was with him when he was killed. He is buried in his hometown in Elmira, New York. Anybody out there got any information? I would like to contact Walter's Mother in Elmira but I don't know her first name. He had a two month old Son when he left for Vietnam in January, 1966, Jeffrey Lee Collins. His Son would now be about 37 years old. Any information would be greatly appreciated by me. And/Or if anybody out there has any Photo's of Walt while he was in Vietnam. Thanks, Bill Urban PO Box 1730 Presque Isle, Maine, 04769 williamurban@hotmail.com
