Please enter your comments:I am searching for any info about my great uncle, Sgt. Stanley Ciemiega, from Lowell, Mass. Stanley was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed, and fought in Guadalcanal, Vella LaVella, and Luzon. He was killed in action on April 17, 1945 outside of Balete Pass, Luzon. I am trying to find anyone who knew him. I am also looking for any who knew Ashton Hayden. He might have known my great uncle in Hawaii. Thanks to you all!

Please enter your comments:I have a uncle that served in the Army Infantry during 1944-1945 in the Luzon Island. He was killed in action in June 1945. His name was Melvin Irvin Marshall. He was from White River, South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation. He was in the Army Infantry but I am not sure with what division. The last time he was seen by his family was in 1945 when he came home on a four day furlough. He then returned to the Philippines and was killed shortly after returning. I am looking for any information or acquaintances that may have known my uncle and who may know where he is buried. Any information about him would be greatly appreciated.

Brings up memories of those who humped the Boi Loi Woods, HoBo Woods and the Filhol Plantation in the armored personnel carriers. Also of the friends we all lost during the many operations in those woods. Talked with a guy from the "Rome Plows" (65TH Engineers) at the CTA in Albuquerque the other day and he has been doing the same thing with the kids. They (kids) say how tragic it must have been!!! During the course of research I am coming across information valuable to all of us. At present I am going through all the Operational Level Combat Action Reports. I am doing this out of my own pocket, on my own time twice a week all day. If you guys would like to share the expense, I would be happy to share the information. Last Saturday I brought back the TET the first week, Battle Of Tay Ninh, And Sunset Beach Operational Combat After Action Reports. If you guys are willing I am willing. As time goes by, It will move to many more individualized CAR's. We supported you so much we are very much involved from another perspective, but it makes it very easy to find the other units personal stuff.Since we have the dates etc. Let me know what you think, and let this be made available to your other 25th Webmaster friends Ron Leonard Webmaster 25th Aviation Battalion-Vietnam http://members.tripod.com/ronleonard/index.htm Diamondhead 085 Ranson WV

What unit did you serve with?HHC 4/23 mech.
When did you serve?1967-68
Please enter your comments:Hello, About a two years ago I got interested in finding out all I could about the 4/23mech. There was nothing about our unit posted on the Internet, with the exception of the information at the 25th. Inf. Div. web page, and I thank you Paul North for your hard work for that. It was like the 4/23 wasn’t part of it. I found links for other units but not ours. The links that I found for other units were very good, and I thought that we could do the same thing. So I started this club and asked for you to come and join, I’m glad you did. Did you know that the 4/23 fought in the Civil War, as a matter of fact the 4/23 participated in 7 Wars, and in Vietnam the 4/23 participated in 11 counteroffensives? Our unit has a long and proud record. It seems to me that our time with the unit is obscure. I want others to know about us, and what we as kids went through. It was my hope that together we could pool our resources and develop a Web Page for the 4/23. Please, if you can find the time I need you to help. I don’t know much about html but I do have some experience. Do you have any html experience or graphics design? I also need help in gathering information off the net or other sources. I need your Pictures and if you kept a diary anything that you think might be helpful then please contact me. I can’t do this alone I need your help! Mike AKA. Cup

When did you serve?1939-1944
Please enter your comments:I am searching for anyone who has recollections of my father, Alphebade Castonguay. Staff Sergeant (radio operator) in Headquarters Co. 35th Infantry. He served from 1939-1944 (Pearl Harbor attack) through Guadalcanal, the northern Solomons and the Luzon invasion. He used to sing country music (I have a newspaper clipping from Hawaii that showed him winning the All-Service Talent Contest in 1940 as the "Gene Autry of the 25th Infantry Division." I have a large number of photos which he took both before and during the war and also an illustrated booklet of combat drawings of the diivisions combat on Luzon. This booklet apparently was published as a memento for the troops. I would be willing scan photos from his photo album for the division web site if you would like. If anyone knew my father I would appreciate hearing from them.

When did you serve?Dec 1965 - Dec 1966
Please enter your comments:I served 3 tours in Vietnam. My first trip was with B Troop 3/4 Cav. Second tour was during 1969-70 on Mat Team 65 out of Sa Dec on the Mekong River. My third trip in 1971-72 was back in Tay Ninh and Cu Chi operating off of Nui Ba Den Mountain, running cross border operations over in Cambodia. I had the opportunity to operate in Warzone C over a period of 9 years. I saw a lot of changes in the way the war was conducted. I was there after the day-to-day operations of the war were turned back over to the Vietnamese forces. I had a feeling at that time that we were not going to come out of Vietnam very well. I was walking over ground that I had walked over 8 or 9 years before, and the Viet Cong and the NVA were still giving us as much contact as we could stand. Good luck to all the Veterans who served their country during that very trying period.

Please enter your comments:hey hippie, remember a fellow nick-named ground hog. he got busted in rank for something however was well liked. I remember him calling in the air strikes when we were at the mountain one time. He was also put in charge of sand bag details although he was just a PFC (rank didn't matter much over there. Remember the pagoda up on te mountain. we weren't susposed to shoot at it,however a few stray tracer rounds were found to be headed in that direction.remember starting up the mountain through the banana trees. the nva would pick the babanas green. also those potao plants ,they really smelled bad when you ran over them. that was the pits going up the hill to "make contact" .you walked right into them. I remember a guy was killed doing that . he was only there a week.
