Any help would be appreciated. Check out the site frequently. Wish all our old comrades and fellow soldiers the best for 2002 and beyond. They deserve it!!!!!

When did you serve? 1986-1989
Please enter your comments: There is a web site, www.wardogs.villarte.com, that was created for all my good friends and others that served in the U.S. Army from 1986-1989 assigned to Alpha Battery, 3/7 FA, 25th Infantry and stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Were you an Alpha battery 3/7 FA " Wardog"? It's been years since we served together. We first met in basic training at Fort Sill, OK March of 1986 to begin our training as 13B cannon crewmembers. As a cohort/OSUT unit, we spent the entire initial 3+ years together. Through good times and bad, we worked together and established some very close friendships. Hopefully this site will bring us together again in some way. My memories were always good in the Army. I often think of my good friends and the good times I had with everyone while stationed in Hawaii. If you know others (see member list and unit photo) that served in A 3/7 FA, tell them about this site. Please email any photos you have with a little blurb about each one and I will post them on the photo page. Also, if you have any stories, memories, or comments about our time together, send them to me and I will add them to the site. Or just use the Discussion Forum. Thanks! And I hope to hear from a few Wardogs soon. Rene Villa (rene@villarte.com)

Please enter your comments: Recently I visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall and found the name of Gregg Goslin. I am interested in any information you may have or photographs of gregg as my name is Chris Goslin and Goslin is a very unusual surname as Goslin is usually spelled Gosling. I am UK born and would like to know of any connection to the Goslins of Wisconsin. I was deeply moved by the memorial and was proud to see a namesake had fought so bravely for his country as did all those brave men did in those years. He was in the 15th Infantry Division and born on 17 June 1948. This may seem out of the blue but I am interested in the connections between the Welsh Goslin and the USA Goslins. I would appreciate any information you might have.

Please enter your comments: I am looking for any information about my uncle, Sgt. Stanley Ciemiega. He was from Lowell, Mass. Stanley was in C Company 35th Infantry Regiment. He was in the 1st Platoon. Stanley was a Pearl Harbor Survivor, fought in Guadalcanal and was killed in action on April 17th, 1945 in Kapintalan, outside of Balete Pass. I would appreciate any info you could give me. I also have documentation about the 35th Regt. which includes a history of the Regt. from the Tropic Lightning Museum, and an Expert Infantryman Badge list for all of the 35th from 1943. This includes names and military numbers.

When did you serve?
Please enter your comments: I am doing a little research to find out if anyone remembers my grandfather. We were very close, but he died in 1991 when I was 19. He was in Pearl Harbor, the Day of Infamy, in the 25th Infantry Co. 1 (I think, I only have an old newspaper article to go on) He also fought in Japan at Luzon and was awarded a Bronze star for saving a soldier in Luzon. He was under the direction of Major General Charles Mullins, JR. Anyone that remembers my grandfather please email me with some information or some stories, I would love to hear them. If not, I understand too, my grandfather was a very humble man, and did not like to discuss the details that much. But I am amazed at his and everyone's courage and heroicism that was present at Pearl Harbor and Luzon. Another tidbit that may help is that he was stationed at Skofield Barracks in Hawaii. Thanks if anyone can help.

Giacchino (possibly an E6 at the time) who served as a helicopter gunship door gunner sometime during early 1965 with the Outlaws and Mavericks (Co A, 502d Avn Bn) stationed at Vinh Long, Vietnam. G.Giacchino believed to have been a memeber of a volunteer doorgunner platoon from the 25th Div or other Hawaii units. G. Please enter your comments: May you all have a wonderful holiday season with your families, loved ones and friends. I recall two Christmas' spent in Tay Ninh with many brothers I will never forget. We all missed those close to us but those were special times for us and nothing could keep the spirit of Christmas down. To the new breed of of servicemen and women, we are all thinking of you and are proud of the tradition which you carry on. I look forward to seeing many old and new faces next year at Branson. My time, this past October, at the reunion in Hawaii was one I shall not soon forget. Best wishes and a Happy New Year to you all!

Please enter your comments: If you are on our 35th Infantry Cacti roster a newsletter was mailed to you recently. On or about the 4th of Dec. I just received mine in the mail on Monday Dec 17. I live less than 30 miles from the PO where they were bulk mailed. Hopefully the delivery schedule is not based on that proximity ratio. All I can say is you should have yours soon or by early Jan 2002 if you live way way away from Tampa, FL. If you don't receive it by Jan 05, please email me. If you received it already or in the near future please send me an email saying so. Now please read thru it thoroughly as there is important info concerning future mailings to nonmembers. If you are not a card carrying life or annual currently paid up member of the 35th Infantry Regiment Assn then this may be the last issue you get. I know I, know, someone out there is saying fine they didn't want it anyway. Well you have some people who work very hard on putting this 35th Assn together and doing the newsletter is part of that assn business. So if you are one of the majority that enjoy getting the news then send in your 2002 dues soon, or become a life member.. Also please remember that membership in either the 25th Infantry or 4th Infantry Division associations is a great thing but does not automatically make you a 35th Infantry Regiment Assn member. We strongly encourage all to join their respective division assns and the 35th Inf Regt Assn as well... If you are a life member already then I salute you and you don't owe anymore dues, however contributions are never refused as they help finance the newsletter. For those of you that have not attended one of the reunions yet, then look at the pictures in this news issue and see the good times that the guys and ladies at the reunion in KC had and will have again at future reunions. Make plans to attend a future 35th Infantry Regt. Reunion, Seattle July 25-28, 2002. Wishing all of you the best of the holiday season and be assured that the spirit of the Cacti will endure.
